Northern Bank, one of Northern Ireland's big four banks, has revealed that it provided £500m in financial support to businesses across the country in the year to June 2010.
The company said it expects lending to businesses to be even greater in the coming year, and has set up a new business acquisition team to help seek out new companies in need of investment .
The team consists of four experienced bankers who will work on bringing in new business customers and building relationships with them.
Ivan McMinn, head of corporate acquisition at Northern Bank said: "Northern Bank is actively looking for good trading companies to invest in and our financial support packages, along with the expertise and innovative online banking services and cash management solutions that we provide, will help facilitate business growth and profitability."

Northern Bank said all types of companies in Northern Ireland are considered for business finance as there are a lot of strong companies across the board.
